Lemon Balm, the Sunshine Herb
The Many Uses of Lemon Balm
I wanted to share one of my favorite nervous system supporting herbs with you today. This sunny herb helps support sleep, reduces bloating, and invites brighter and calmer moods!
This magical plant is called Lemon Balm (Melissa Officinalis) and it’s part of a very special category of herbs called Nervines. Nervines are some of my favorite herbs because they actually have a specific affinity for the nervous system. Isn’t that just so cool!?!?
Lemon Balm is a cooling, relaxant herb that has a special affinity for the nervous, cardiovascular and digestive systems. I love this plant because it not only helps to calm our moods, but as a carminative and antispasmodic, it also helps with bloating and a nervous stomach. Plus it tastes AMAZING!!
You can drink it as a tea throughout the day or right before bed to help with better sleep. And did I mention it even has antiviral properties?!
“Loved for its calming and relaxing properties, this aromatic herb soothes tense digestion and eases an anxious mind. Whether sipping it as a delicious cup of tea or taking it in tincture form, there are numerous ways to enjoy this herb.”
“Like a ray of sunshine, Lemon Balm infuses your days with joy and invites you to reconnect with your inner child. Lemon Balm is a radiant herb that spreads joy in all who embrace it.”

Lemon Balm Herbal Supports
If you’d like to give Lemon Balm a try, you can buy the tea in most health-food stores. You can also purchase it for a discount on my Fullscript dispensary! (As with any supplement suggestion, always check with your wellness practitioner before trying. Although I will say Lemon Balm itself is considered a very gentle and safe herb, even in pregnancy.)
Here are a few of my favorite Lemon Balm products:
You can purchase Lemon Balm in tincture-form in the ‘Calm CNS’ herbal formula. This tincture is combined with other nervine herbs as a nutritive tonic for a burnt-out system.
Earth Mama’s ‘Peaceful Tea’ contains lemon balm and other calming herbs, and is safe for pregnancy. I love to drink it before bed or throughout the day to support my digestion and for it’s calming effects.
And lastly, here is a gentle kid’s Lemon Balm tincture to support calmer moods and happier tummies for the little ones!
